Our Vision

The vision of the Hailay and Tsehay Foundation is to provide people with disabilities and others with the opportunities and support required to empower them to be leaders in the disability sector.

At times there has been a remarkable display of leadership, often by people who are highly marginalised and segregated away from the world because of their disability. Many have pushed for change, often at great personal cost. The Foundation believes that each individual, including people with disabilities can be empowered to foster an inclusive and equitable society. The Foundation will bring together transformational leaders today and empower them to build our world for tomorrow – they will be strategists, innovators, creators, lateral thinkers and change makers.

In fulfilling its vision, the Foundation will form strategic partnerships with organisation who can provide the much needed monetary and in-kind support. It will seek to collaborate with stakeholders and private institutions to provide people with disability with dignity, a sense of purpose and opportunity to be productive. The Foundation will also form partnerships with any key national or international organisations that share the same purpose and will leverage efforts and learnings.

What Success Looks Like

The long-term goal of the Hailay and Tsehay Foundation is to establish college or university level courses that can fulfill the demands of people with disability and achieve equality, equity, diversity and inclusion through empowerment.

By establishing itself as an organisation that empowers people with disabilities in attaining their personal and societal goals by receiving effective and meaningful training, the Foundation will have a significant practical impact in minimising the gaps and barriers. The ultimate success for the Foundation is that positive steps are achieved on a large scale in enriching the daily good life of people with disabilities and to empower them to be able to achieve their goals.
